The project “Intelligent systems for the improvement of quality and productivity applied to greenhouse tomato cultivation” focuses on increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized producers who, due to the technological gaps caused by the high cost of implementation and the need for adequate training, cannot benefit from the advantages of modernisation both in terms of management and economic control of operating costs. Therefore, with the application of ICTs through tele-management systems focused on irrigation, plant and soil control, the aim is to improve tomato production and quality for small and medium-sized producers, optimising the management and control of fertigation in cultivation systems. The expected result is the improvement of productivity and quality by at least 20%, as well as water and fertiliser savings of more than 15%.
